This is what happens when a family emigrates from Iceland to Hecla, and produces Ed.

He flies with the RCAF during the war and meets Jean, a WAAF officer in Britain.

Ed is shot down and kept in Stalag Luft 3 but, after the war, marries Jean and moves to Toronto.

The rest is history.
